• Welcome!

Hi!  My name is Justin Wesbrooks.  I'm an international wedding photographer from Amarillo, Texas.

This blog is used to show some of my work but also as a journal of my life.  Stop back whenever you can to see what's new.

I'm also on Facebook and Twitter and that's where updates happen more frequently.

Random Thoughts

So.. I’m a bad blogger.  I sit down to blog and I don’t really know what I want to blog about.  I’d make some bold statement like I’m going to blog once a week this year, but I’d just let myself down.  So I’ve decided to do the best I can.  I’m going to start posting more random thoughts so I can have a journal of these things to look back on…

I’m sitting here watching Conan.  I’ve never really got into him that much because he was always on too late.  He’s pretty funny though.  I think he’s seriously getting hosed by NBC.  Yeah, he’s getting a ton of money out of the deal, but none of those guys would trade places with him.  He’ll get another deal with FOX or somewhere else… NBC execs are stupid..

In other news, pitchers and catchers report in a little over a month.  Football season is winding down.  The worst time of year for sports is between the super bowl and opening day.  I think this will be the Cubs year though.

Those of you that know me well know that I’m a big Apple fan.  I was going to buy a bunch of Apple stock a couple years ago right after the iPHone came out. I talked myself out of it thinking they had topped out.  Boy was I wrong.  I think I’m going to go ahead and buy some even though it’s at a 52 week high because I believe in the company.  Sounds like some cool announcements coming next week about and Apple tablet and new version of the iPhone OS.

No mountains or beaches in Amarillo, but we can run with anyone on sunsets….

Amarillo Photographer Family Portraits

I got a chance a few weeks ago to take some family pictures for a girl I went to high school with.  Kind of makes the job easy when you have a good looking family like this.

This is awesome…

Fenway Park

Finally got the chance to cross of one of my bucket list items. We had tickets on Monday night to the Red Sox game, but we were delayed all day getting out of Texas due to bad weather. We finally arrived in Boston during the 8th inning of the game. Nothing like wasting $400 on Red Sox tickets. But, we got come back and try it Wednesday. There were thunderstorms everywhere in the New England area so we thought we weren’t going to make it. We even bought the throw away ponchos at the game. But… we lucked out. No rain. We got to see the game. It was pretty much as good as advertised (especially for a Cubs fan). Here is a panoramic pic I took of the stadium from our seat.  Click on the pic for the larger version.

It just takes time

We just planted our first tree at our new house. This was a tree that came up beside a big maple tree at my Mom and Dad’s house. We got the maple tree when I was a kid and it was about this size. Mom brought it to us a few weeks ago. So.. I guess by the time I’m 80 it will be big enough to enjoy:-) We’ll take a picture of Bentley by it every year to track it’s size.    She’s 4 right now.
